PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH
KICKING IT WITH IX
At this event chapter members and students alike were given the opportunity to exercise through hip hop dance. The attendees were lead through a easy stretching session, that was followed by a dance routine.
COLORS
This event is an annual mental health and wellness event. This event gave participants a chance to debrief and destress before finals.
EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
PILLOW TALK
This event allows members of the chapter to greet new students at the University of South Carolina with tips and tricks to navigate our expansive campus and their new lives as college students. Special guests included presenters from the USC Student Success Center and USC Police Department.

WIX News
This virtual event showcased the latest news updates with Soror Jailah McDaniels and Soror Jada Hudson. They highlighted news reporting on the national, local and international news levels.
International Awarness and Involvment
BATTLE OF THE AUX
The chapter partnered with the Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for a friendly competition of Battle of the aux. This event gave people the opportunity to showcase their musical taste and style.
INTERNATIONAL CUISINE NIGHT
The chapter partnered with the Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. and Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. for the Taste of Culture Night. This event explored Black Southern, Hispanic, and South Asian cuisines and cultures.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
HAIR IXPO
This event showcased the evolution of hair, nails, and makeup in the black culture and the expense of maintaining it. This event showcased the cost effect ways to maintain natural/weaved hair, nails, and makeup in college.

Greek festival
The Greek Festival held in Columbia every year brings people of all races and ages to enjoy Greek culture. The ladies of Iota Chi teams up with USC students each year to help the festival run smoothly. We perform tasks at different booths throughout the day.
Color me hiv testing
Color Me HIV was held in the Columbia community to promote free HIV testing awareness. The ladies of Iota Chi helped get the community signed up for this testing, as well as other tasks throughout the day.
USC Move-in
August means class time, and IX is always ready to get to start the school year. With a Top 10 GPA for all sororities and fraternities at USC, education is very important to us. To help incoming freshmen, IX helped students move in to their dormitories and answered any questions they may have about campus life and academics.
MLK DAY OF SERVICE
Commemorating Martin Luther King, Jr. is a task that IX completes every school year. To honor him this year, the ladies teamed up with USC students to create 131 lunches--including ham or turkey sandwiches, chips, granola bar, and water--to give to the homeless. Lunches were served around the community.
TRICK OR TREAT WITH THE GREEKS
IX loves children and candy! Each year, we partner with the other fraternities and sororities on campus to involved the local children in loads of fun for Halloween. We set up a table and play a gam with the children each year and give candy and small halloween toys for prizes.
transitions
An integral part of the Salvation Army, Transitions exists to help the homeless by serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Iota Chi has served with Transitions on numerous occasions, helping to prepare the food plates and give them away to those in need.

Relay for lIFE
The Iota Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta involves itself in the battle against cancer every year with Relay for Life. Last year, our chapter contributed a total of $1,845.54 to the cause. We usually hold a cook-out free of charge and accept donations along the way, as well as set up a tent to sell drinks and chips on the night of Relay for Life.
children's shelter needs drive
Together We Rise is a national non-profit organization geared towards helping local foster children. IX partnered with the USC Chapter to run a needs drive. We collected both kitchen items, including utensils, plastic cups, etc..., and school supplies, including notebooks, book bags, etc... to give to Palmetto Place Children's Shelter.
Penny drive for breast cancer
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the IX Chapter raised funds to donate to breast cancer research. We did this through the collection of pennies and other change in jars throughout the course of a week.
Preemie parcels
Preemie Parcels is an organization that serves to collect materials for premature babies. Iota Chi partnered with the Preemie Parcels Chapter on USC's campus to donate blankets and pacifiers for our local premature babies.
